We are happy to announce that today we are releasing the very first solo album of Saint-Petersburg (Russia) based artist Denis Sorokin. The album is completed only by his own music, as the author said: “something was improvised, something was composed. Music by which I was inspired – Ferran Fages, Eva-Maria Houben, Michael Pisaro, Taku Sugimoto, Kristofer Svensson, Morton Feldman, Fredrik Rasten, Olivier Messiaen.”

For this album, Denis Sorokin is using steel-string acoustic guitar, e-bow, pitch pipes, nylon string classical guitar and mandolin.

Denis Sorokin is well known for his performances of the music of Wandelweiser composers and also his own transcriptions for guitar of Znamenny Chants and compositions of John Cage, Morton Feldman, Galina Ustvolskaya and others.
