New release on NCTMMRN - VEREVKA | NCTMMRN

New artist / new release: VEREVKA

We are happy to announce a new artist and the new release coming later this month!

VEREVKA | Saint-Petersburg, Russia

The Verevka project was found as a “horizontal” project, with the aim of bringing improvising musicians together to work on microtonal music and to experiment with the acoustics of various rooms.

Through the unity of the instrumentation (acoustic guitars and electronic bows), the project has eliminated the loudness and timbre inequality inherent in various musical instruments. Thus, each musician in the project has the same “amount of sound” and an equal margin for deviations and improvisation, which consists of a slight change in pitch.

The presented concert in the rotunda was an interesting experience in a room with a very rich natural acoustics. The musicians were located in the choirs, where the organ used to stand, and the audience was at the bottom, which made it possible to perceive not individual “sound threads”, but the entire musical canvas at once.
