Ray Robinson | Wodwo
Ray Robinson (under the alias “Wodwo“) is a composer & sound artist.
Having produced musical scores for numerous films, video art, theatre plays, & choreographies, his music varies from minimal loop-based electronica & neoclassical pieces to drones, experimental & ambient, guitar & glitch. Most recently he’s had albums released by Silber Records (USA), Petroglyph Music (Norway).
Robinson is also a novelist and screenwriter. He first won attention in 2006 with his debut novel, Electricity. It was shortlisted for both the James Tait Black Memorial Prize and the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award. The screen adaptation premiered at the BFI London Film Festival in 2014 and won Best Screenplay at the National Film Awards. His other novels are The Man Without, Forgetting Zoë, and Jawbone Lake. Forgetting Zoë was a winner of the inaugural Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize. Most recently he wrote the BAFTA-nominated, Edith, starring Peter Mullan and Michelle Fairley, upon which his new novel, The Mating Habits of Stags, is based.
