Barry Chabala

Barry Chabala (NJ, 1961)

Guitarist/improvisor Barry Chabala, born of the New Jersey bar scene, is influenced as much by classic rock as he is by modern classical and experimental music. His rock credits include Foxfire, The Freddie Cousie Band & The Parkway Jams as well as Chris Carroll’s album ‘Street Diploma’.

His extensive improvised/experimental discography includes several releases on his own Roeba label as well as Erstwhile Records, Gravity Wave, Winds Measure, Canada’s Caduc Records, NCTMMRN and England’s Another Timbre and has performed with and recorded many of composer Michael Pisaro’s works for guitar.
